01Acceptance of terms
By accessing the Chaatr platform or using any of its apps (student app, parent app, teacher portal, school portal) or its website chaatr.com, you agree to be bound by these terms and the associated privacy policy. If you don't agree to any clause, please don't use the platform.
02Eligibility and child accounts
The service is intended for children in grades 4 through 8 (roughly ages 9–14) along with their parents, teachers, and schools.
If the user is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must create the account or approve it. The parent is legally responsible for all activity on the child's account, including any top-ups or purchases.
A teacher confirms that the information they provide is accurate and that they're qualified to teach the subjects they choose.
03Account responsibilities
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials (email and password) confidential and for any activity that takes place through your account.
You must notify us immediately at support@chaatr.com if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account. We won't be liable for losses resulting from a failure to do so.
04Subscriptions and payments
Some platform features are offered as paid subscriptions, with prices clearly shown before purchase. Subscription fees are charged automatically on the renewal date unless cancelled beforehand.
All prices are in Saudi Riyal and include VAT where applicable. You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase under the published refund policy, provided you haven't substantially consumed the service.
05XP, wallet, and rewards
XP is a virtual unit inside the platform earned by completing educational tasks. XP is not legal currency and cannot be converted to cash outside the platform.
The family wallet is an account managed by the parent, which can be topped up via approved payment methods. A child can request to redeem XP for a reward, but no amount is transferred without explicit approval from the parent.
We reserve the right to amend the rules for earning or redeeming XP whenever necessary, with prior notice to users.
06Acceptable use
As a user of the platform, you agree not to:
• Use the platform for any unlawful or harmful purpose.
• Attempt unauthorised access to our systems or to other people's accounts.
• Post or send offensive content, content that incites hatred, or content that violates public decency.
• Use automated tools to extract data from the platform without written permission.
• Impersonate any student, teacher, or staff member.
We reserve the right to suspend an account immediately on any breach, without prior notice if the breach poses a risk to other users.
07Content and intellectual property
All intellectual property rights related to the platform — including design, code, logos, default copy, and educational courses produced by our team — are owned by or licensed to Chaatr.
The user is granted a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the content for personal learning only. You may not republish, sell, or redistribute any platform content without prior written consent.
08Teacher content
The teacher retains intellectual property rights in the content they produce and upload to the platform (lessons, challenges, recordings). By publishing on Chaatr, the teacher grants the platform a non-exclusive licence to host the content and deliver it to enrolled students, under the pricing and revenue mechanics agreed in the teacher agreement.
The teacher warrants that their content is original and does not infringe any third party's intellectual property rights, and bears sole responsibility for any breach of this warranty.
09Account termination
You may terminate your account at any time from the app settings. On termination, your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account if it breaches these terms, or if it's used in a way that harms the platform's integrity or other users, returning any unspent wallet balance under the refund policy.
10Disclaimer
The platform and its services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do our best to keep the service running and the content accurate, but we make no express or implied warranty that the service will be entirely free of errors or interruptions, or that learning outcomes will reach any specific level.
11Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising out of your use of the platform. Our total monetary liability, if any, will not exceed the amount you actually paid to the platform during the twelve months preceding the claim.
12Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Any dispute arising from use of the platform is first referred to amicable negotiation; if not resolved, it is brought before the competent judicial authorities in the city of Riyadh.
13Changes to these terms
We reserve the right to amend these terms from time to time. For material changes, we notify users via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after the update is deemed acceptance of the new terms.
14Contact us
For any legal or commercial question related to these terms, contact us at support@chaatr.com and we'll respond as soon as possible.
